Statement from a Microsoft employee after much discontent in the community:

Details about the outage and user experiences can be found here in the MSFS forum: https://forums.flightsimulator.com/t/cant-load-game-server-issue-feb-7-2026/756965

What you should pay attention to now:

Some users are complaining about data loss, for example, the controller settings or SIM settings, which are very annoying. To ensure your cloud connection works without lasting problems, you should follow these steps:

1. Launch the Xbox app - then sign out - close the app and reopen it - then sign in again.

2. Open Windows Settings - select Apps, then 'Installed apps' - search for 'Microsoft Flight' and select the three dots next to MSFS2024, then 'Advanced options' - ensure that MSFS is completely closed (if unsure, select 'Quit') - otherwise, or after that, go to the 'Reset' section and select 'Repair' . (Do not select 'Reset' or 'Uninstall'!)
